SUZURAN ODORI – CANADIAN JAPANESE CULTURAL CENTRE OF HAMILTON
Suzuran Odori (すずらん踊り) is the traditional Japanese dance group of the Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton. Founded by the late Chiyoko Izumi, Suzuran Odori has been preserving and sharing Japanese culture in the Hamilton area and across Southern Ontario for many years.
The group performs a wide variety of dances drawn from classical Japanese dance and Japanese folk traditions, often accompanied by traditional instruments and music from various regions of Japan. Their colourful costumes, graceful choreography, and spirited performances aim to connect audiences with the beauty and diversity of Japanese heritage
